Taylor-Wharton Announces April Price Increases for Acetylene Cylinders, High Pressure Cylinders, Cryogenic Bulk Tanks and Portable Liquid Cylinders

Energy, Transportation and Component Parts Costs Trigger 5% Increases

Mechanicsburg, PA – (March 29, 2005): Taylor-Wharton today announced price increases, effective April 15, 2005, covering all cylinder and certain cryogenic equipment product lines.

Scott W. Boyd, Vice President of Sales and Marketing stated that, “Sustained escalation of energy and component parts costs continue to exert upward pressure on our pricing structure.” Mr. Boyd commented that, “Protracted global increases for oil and other fossil fuel commodities have had a persistent impact on manufacturing costs for all of our product lines.” He continued, “In addition to the energy related rise in costs to operate our factories, the costs to transport raw materials and component parts to our facilities and ship finished products to our customers are inflating beyond our ability to absorb the increases. As a result, we will be implementing an approximate 5% increase on all cylinder and certain cryogenic product lines effective April 15th.” Mr. Boyd noted that the supply chains serving the Taylor-Wharton factories are also experiencing unprecedented increases in energy costs and although the suppliers have maintained reliable deliveries, they are compelled to pass energy and transportation related increases through to our manufacturing locations.
